Job summary

The Belmont Mansion Museum Shop at Belmont University is seeking a Shop Assistant (Student Employee) to deliver friendly, first-rate service to visitors. You will handle greeting, transactions with the POS system, restock, and keep the shop welcoming and organized.

Shifts range 2–6 hours and require current enrollment as Belmont University student and eligibility for a Federal Work-Study (FWS) award. Prior customer service experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to remain positive, respectful, and flexible in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience operating a point-of-sale system.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and assisting museum visitors in a warm, engaging, and professional manner.
• Taking initiative to anticipate visitors’ needs and provide personalized service.
• Processing sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
• Maintaining an attractive, organized, and well-stocked museum shop.
• Pricing merchandise and restocking inventory as needed.
• Answering phone calls and responding to visitor inquiries.
• Assisting the Shop Manager with other tasks as needed.
