Job summary

Grinnell College Museum of Art is seeking a part-time Museum Guard to protect artwork and ensure a safe visitor experience in the Faulconer Gallery. The role collaborates closely with the Office of Campus Safety and supports staff, students, and guests with professional conduct and clear information.

The position involves scheduled hours: Thursdays 6:00-8:00 PM, Saturdays 1:00-5:00 PM, and Sundays 1:00-5:00 PM, with additional event support as needed.

Qualifications

• Able to interact professionally with staff, students, and visitors.
• Commitment to safety and emergency procedures.
• Willingness to learn post orders and campus safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily security coverage in the gallery and monitor exhibitions.
• Instruct visitors and respond to emergencies per protocols.
• Coordinate with other guards and Office of Campus Safety for coverage.
• Assist with setup and supervision during special events.
