Job summary

The Brown (formerly Museum of Arts and Sciences) in Daytona Beach is seeking a Security & Operations Support Officer to bridge the Security, Events, and Curatorial teams. Based in Security, this floating role ensures the safety of people and collections while supporting exhibitions, events, and gallery spaces.

Ideal candidates are proactive, able to work evenings and weekends, and comfortable coordinating across departments to maintain safety, order, and smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; security or events background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a secure and welcoming environment for guests, staff, and collections.
• Operate surveillance systems, two-way radios, and alarm systems; respond to emergencies.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including securing galleries and managing lighting.
• Support events with setup, coordination, and on-site security for rentals and programs.
• Monitor and report environmental conditions affecting collections.
