Job summary

First Americans Museum (FAM) is seeking a Security Officer to protect its 175,000 sq. ft. facility and preserve the safety of visitors, staff, and collections. The role collaborates with the Chief of Security and supervisorial staff to manage security operations.

Shifts include 40 hours per week with varied start times, including evenings and weekends. The position is hourly, non-exempt, and offers a benefits package including health, life, and retirement options.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Visually, electronically, and audibly monitor assigned areas and grounds.
• De-escalate situations verbally to ensure safety.
• Respond to emergencies to preserve life and property.
• Inspect doors/windows to ensure security.
• Record incidents and property damage per policy.
• Warn violators and may apprehend or eject them.
• Notify on-site staff of visitors.
• Check safety and security systems for proper operation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
