Job summary

Miami Children’s Museum is seeking a dependable, friendly Museum Safety Officer to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests, employees, and the community. The Safety Officer will monitor the facility, assist guests, respond to safety concerns, and help ensure Museum policies are followed.

The ideal candidate is professional, attentive to children and families, and able to respond calmly and appropriately in challenging situations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in safety, security, hospitality, customer service, or a similar role preferred.
Strong observation and communication skills.
Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
Comfortable working around children, families, and large groups.

Responsibilities

Maintain a visible presence throughout the Museum to promote a safe environment.
Monitor entrances, exits, exhibits, and common areas.
Greet and assist guests in a professional and courteous manner.
Respond to safety concerns, incidents, and emergencies.
Help enforce Museum policies and procedures.
Complete incident reports accurately and promptly.
Assist with evacuations and emergency procedures when necessary.
Communicate concerns to Museum leadership and appropriate team members.
Support special events and other Museum activities as needed.
