Job summary

SIRIS, LLC is seeking a Construction Museum Specialist (Exempt) to support National Park Service projects in Greensboro, NC. The role centers on planning and supervising complex construction activities within federally managed parks, ensuring safety, environmental, and accessibility standards are met.

The position emphasizes coordination with Smithsonian program leadership, documentation, and collections care, with opportunities for future cultural program engagements based on performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Museum Studies or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three years of full-time museum curation/collection management experience.
• Experience in regulated environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Smithsonian program leadership and museum representatives to ensure project execution.
• Prepare and maintain regular project reports and documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and help resolve operational challenges.
• Collaborate on cataloguing, photography, and documentation of collections with project partners.
• Perform collections management tasks including inventory, cataloging, and database management.
• Prepare condition reports and ensure documentation aligns with museum standards.
• Ensure collections handling and storage protocols are followed.
• Assist with artifact housing and movement using appropriate equipment.
• Maintain tracking systems to support oversight and reporting.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
