Job summary

SIRIS, LLC seeks an Assistant Design Manager to support a Smithsonian National Museum East Wing renovation in Washington, DC. You will assist with design management, contracts, and coordination with the A/E team while maintaining documentation throughout design and construction.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, experience with design reviews, site visits, and RFIs, and the ability to work in an active museum environment with historic preservation considerations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or related discipline; professional registration preferred.
  • Experience in design/construction management within Federal or cultural facilities is desirable.
  • Strong organization, communication, and document control skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support Design Manager with design contract administration and project coordination.
  • Coordinate project meetings, agendas, action items, and documentation.
  • Assist with design reviews and responses through I-Manage and Revizto.
  • Coordinate A/E team site visits, field surveys, and investigations of existing conditions.
  • Review RFIs, submittals, substitutions, design submissions, and construction-phase docs.
  • Help develop A/E scopes of work and Independent Government Estimates.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, Smithsonian policies, and historic preservation requirements.
