Job summary

The Contemporary Austin is seeking a Venue Attendant to oversee rental event operations at Laguna Gloria in West Austin and the Jones Center downtown. As the primary on-site representative for private events, you will manage client and vendor relations, support facility operations, and resolve issues in real time.

This seasonal, part-time role requires availability for evenings and weekends, 4–5 shifts per month, and reliable transportation to both locations.

Qualifications

• Excellent attention to detail and flexibility to mitigate issues.
• Strong client relations, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Must have reliable transportation to both museum locations.
• Must be comfortable working late into the evening and on weekends.
• Must be able to lift and carry items up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee event from start to finish ensuring planners and clients follow contracts and museum rules.
• Serve as main point-of-contact for event planners, vendors, and guests; relay venue information and maintain spaces.
• Coordinate with on-site vendors to meet terms during load-in, event, and load-out; prevent early entry and overtime.
• Maintain spaces dedicated to rental events in good standing.
• Coordinate with events team to ensure all items and trash are cleared by closeout time without damages.
• Document incidents and prepare post-event reports.
