Job summary

The Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, CT seeks a Learning Coordinator to design, manage, and deliver high-impact educational and community programming. This role bridges formal learning initiatives with broad public engagement, with a tentative start date of October 6, 2026.

You will lead school/group tours, after-school programs, and off-site lectures, while coordinating logistics, budgets, and staff. Collaboration with Marketing and other departments is essential, with some weekend work required.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of program development, community engagement or event planning experience.
• Strong leadership, project management, and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse audiences and maintain a flexible schedule.
• Valid driver’s license and local travel for programs.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred and CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Direct delivery: lead school/group tours, after-school programs, and off-site outreach.
• Plan, staff, and manage educational/public initiatives on-site and off-site; oversee budgets and logistics.
• Maintain scheduling, reservations, and attendance data; support grant reporting.
• Collaborate with Marketing and other departments to support events and promotions.
• Schedule includes one Saturday per month and local travel as needed.
