Job summary

The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum in Hartford, CT is seeking a Public Programs & Partnerships Manager to design, produce, and evaluate welcoming experiences that connect audiences with the museum’s collections and civic role.

The role collaborates with curatorial, learning and engagement, marketing, and community partners to create talks, workshops, campus collaborations, and other formats that invite curiosity and participation. Evening/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Three to five years of experience in developing public programs, cultural events, community engagement, or related work.
  • Experience working with artists, educators, performers, community partners, and university collaborators is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, produce, and evaluate public programs for a wide audience.
  • Collaborate with curatorial, learning and engagement, marketing, and external partners.
  • Design diverse formats to invite participation and reduce barriers to engagement.
  • Manage program logistics including schedules, budgets, contracts, and travel.
  • Support learning partnerships and internship programs.
