Job summary

The Nevada State Museum in Las Vegas is seeking a Museum Attendant II to support visitor services, the museum store, education programs, membership services, volunteers, and events with front-line guest interaction.

Shifts are Thursday through Monday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with duties including greeting visitors, answering questions, cashiering, security monitoring, and assisting with tours, school programs, and special events as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; two years of clerical experience with the public.
• Ability to greet visitors and provide information on exhibits, programs and facilities.
• Experience handling transactions and basic cashiering.
• Willingness to assist with education programs, tours and special events.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and provide information about exhibits and programs.
• Assist museum store staff as cashier/salesclerk as needed.
• Monitor security and assist with routine safety of guests and assets.
• Collect admission fees and maintain revenue records; prepare deposits.
• Perform clerical tasks and assist with website/social media updates.
