This role combines office duties with public interaction, requires independent judgment and adherence to state statutes, and offers opportunities in revenue reporting, account reconciliation, and lien processing.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent and 3 years in bookkeeping/utility-billing or municipal finance.
• Ability to obtain Motor Vehicle Agent and Boat Agent certifications; Notary Public.
• Knowledge of governmental utility accounting and Beacon/BS&A systems.

Responsibilities

• Generate monthly and quarterly water and sewer bills; verify abatements and balances.
• Establish and adjust customer accounts; process final reads and closing statements.
• Provide counter support for motor vehicles, vital records, taxes; collect payments.
• Prepare revenue, aging, and consumption reports; maintain records per laws.
