Job summary

Smith & Loveless seeks a Municipal Pumping Sales Engineer to partner with the Municipal Sales team. The role focuses on selling pumping systems to cities, counties, consulting engineers, and contractors within the domestic market.

You will manage bids, inquiries, and pricing while promoting S&L products and maintaining key account relationships. The position requires travel and a strong technical and sales background.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering or sales related field preferred.
  • Effective communication, human relations, and sales abilities.
  • Conceptualization and negotiation skills with a professional demeanor.

Protecting People.” We are seeking a Municipal Pumping Sales Engineer to partner with our experienced Municipal Sales team in this environmentally focused industry.A Municipal Pumping Sales Engineer at Smith and Loveless is accountable for sales, handling bidding and inquiries for Smith & Loveless, Inc. pumping products and services to their territory in the Domestic market. The incumbent is responsible for calling on cities, counties, consulting engineers, contractors, and municipal and regulatory officials to promote Smith & Loveless, Inc. pumping products, for new applications. Cultivate the personnel of key accounts.Provide timely follow-up on all pricing, bids, inquiries, and submittals.Provide technical knowledge and timely, accurate information to assist local engineers, developers, municipalities, representatives, etc. in the design and purchase of S&L products. Keep abreast of the latest technology in the industry.Promote full range of S&L pumping equipment and ensures its proper application.Keep abreast of the competitive situation within respective region and recommends marketing strategy to the Company.Maintain an open and effective line of communication with the Manager, Pumping Systems, and all internal S&L departments.Other duties as assigned by Manager, Pumping Systems and VP, Municipal Division.Keep office, work area and sales truck neat, clean and orderly.Skills/RequirementsBachelors of Science Degree in Engineering or sales related field preferred2 years experience with water and or wastewater equipment preferred.3 years experience in electrical and mechanical systems.Effective communication, human relations, and sales abilities.Conceptualization and negotiation skills along with a professional demeanor.Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.50% - 60% domestic travel required.Physical requirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
