Job summary

The City of Whitehall seeks a Network Administrator to oversee the enterprise network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, firewalls, VPNs, and public safety networks. You will collaborate with the IT Network Security Administrator to enforce security policies and coordinate DNS, DHCP, Active Directory topology, and server connectivity with the Systems Administrator.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; professional experience may substitute education on a year-for-year basis.
• 3–5 years of progressive experience in enterprise network administration, systems analysis, and hands-on Layer 2/3 routing/switching, firewalls, and Wi‑Fi management.
• CCNA or Network+ and Security+ certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze municipal connectivity requirements and design, configure, and optimize switches, routers, VLANs, STP, ACLs, and QoS.
• Oversee patching and lifecycle management of network hardware/software; plan firmware updates and vulnerability remediation.
• Design, deploy, and administer enterprise Wi‑Fi controllers and APs across municipal facilities.
