Job summary

The Town of Unity Springs seeks an Irrigation Specialist to install, inspect, maintain, and repair municipal irrigation systems serving parks and facilities. You will program controllers, monitor water use, and ensure compliance with safety and conservation standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating with staff, contractors, and vendors, reading plans, and maintaining thorough maintenance records. A valid SC Driver’s License and certifications are required within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Five years of progressive irrigation experience preferred.
• Must have or obtain CIT within one year of hire.
• Must have or obtain Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certification within one year.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair municipal irrigation systems.
• Inspect systems for leaks, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
• Program and monitor irrigation controllers and smart systems.
• Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and water usage.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and staff on projects.
