Job summary

City of Conroe seeks an Internal Auditor to perform financial, operational, and compliance audits in line with professional standards. The role evaluates internal controls, policies, and regulatory compliance to support transparency and efficiency across City operations.

As time permits, the Internal Auditor may assist the Director of Finance or City Council with additional duties and projects. A strong background in government accounting and analytics is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of internal or governmental auditing experience.
• Experience with data analytics tools, ERP/financial systems, and audit software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits.
• Evaluate internal controls, policies, procedures, and compliance with laws.
• Provide independent assessments to support transparency and efficiency.
• Perform additional duties as requested by the Director of Finance or City Council.
