Job summary

Manpower in Florida's Indiantown municipality seeks an Accountant to maintain financial records, assist with budgets, and support audits in line with GAAP and GASB standards.

You will work with department leaders, finance staff, and auditors to ensure transparency of public funds, reconcile ledgers, produce monthly/quarterly/annual reports, and help with year-end closing and grants reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2-5 years accounting experience.
• Governmental or municipal accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with fund accounting and budget management preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and GASB.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial records.
• Process and review accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and journal entries.
• Assist with preparation of annual budgets, amendments, and financial forecasts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Reconcile bank accounts and municipal funds.
• Monitor expenditures and revenues to ensure compliance with approved budgets.
• Assist with year-end closing activities and annual external audits.
• Maintain accounting records in accordance with GAAP and GASB.
• Prepare reports and documentation for grants, state reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management.
• Support internal controls and ensure compliance with municipal policies and procedures.
• Respond to inquiries from departments, vendors, auditors, and the public regarding financial matters.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
