Job summary

The City of Haines City is seeking a skilled Accountant to manage financial records, ensure compliance, and support budgeting for municipal operations. This role focuses on public finance, grants, payroll, fixed assets, and adherence to GASB standards within a governmental setting.

You will process invoices, reconcile ledgers, run reports, and assist with budget preparation, forecasting revenues and expenditures, and ensuring accurate fundraising and grant tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA or CGFM preferred.
• 3–5 years accounting experience, public sector preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices, reconcile bank statements, post journal entries.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports for department heads.
• Assist in closing the general ledger and budgeting forecasts.
• Manage payroll, fixed assets, and grant tracking with compliance to GASB.
