Manpower in partnership with a city/municipality seeks an Accountant to maintain financial records and support fiscal operations.

You will prepare general ledger entries, process accounts payable/receivable, assist with budgets, and prepare monthly and annual reports in accordance with GAAP and GASB.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, has 2–5 years of municipal accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and adept collaboration with departments and external auditors.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Governmental or municipal accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with fund accounting and budget management preferred.

Mansioni

• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial records.
• Process and review accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and journal entries.
• Assist with preparation of annual budgets, amendments, and financial forecasts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Reconcile bank accounts and municipal funds.
• Monitor expenditures and revenues to ensure compliance with approved budgets.
• Assist with year-end closing activities and annual external audits.
• Maintain accounting records in accordance with GAAP and GASB requirements.
• Prepare reports and documentation for grants, state reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management.
• Support internal controls and ensure compliance with municipal policies and procedures.
• Respond to inquiries from departments, vendors, auditors, and the public regarding financial matters.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
