Job summary

The City of Mableton seeks a Finance Analyst II to perform professional level accounting and financial analysis supporting month-end and year-end closing, GASB compliance, and financial statement preparation. The role includes reconciliations, reporting, and maintaining ledgers for multiple funds.

Responsibilities cover internal controls, audits, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and citywide financial operations, with emphasis on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Two years of accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may apply.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, policies and external regulations.
• Assist with financial statements and management reports such as budget variance reports and ACFR.
• Support accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, payroll, property tax and other subledgers.
• Monitor and analyze revenues, expenditures and fund balances; prepare adjusting entries as needed.
• Assist with internal controls and responses to external auditors.
• Perform monthly reconciliations for bank, balance sheet, interfund, fixed asset and other accounts.
• Maintain documentation to ensure compliance with city policies.
• Prepare schedules and work papers for auditors.
• Review and enter daily cash receipts; monitor debt service payments; handle confidential documents.
