Job summary

The City of Bloomington, MN is seeking a maintenance worker to perform a variety of manual labor, semi-skilled and skilled tasks in maintaining municipal buildings, parks, streets and storm sewers. The role requires reading and following safety rules, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One year of related experience.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Possess a valid Minnesota Special Boiler License within six months of employment.
• Possess basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of building structure, exterior and envelope.
• Inspect, perform routine maintenance and repair of building mechanical systems.
• Maintenance and repair of doors, door hardware and closers.
• Maintenance and repair of plumbing systems and related fixtures (faucets, flush valves, drains).
• Report deficiencies in building systems and components to supervisor as appropriate.
• Keeps shop area clean and organized; monitors and cleans building mechanical areas.
