Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Minneapolis to perform building repairs, electrical and plumbing tasks, and event setup while keeping facilities clean and safe.

This role requires hands-on skills, the ability to inspect and report faults, and the flexibility to respond to emergencies and after-hours activities; strong attention to safety and compliance with local codes is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• At least one year of experience supporting mission critical environments.
• Hands-on electrical or mechanical skill and competence in non-expertise.
• Operate routine and emergency service on state-of-the-art critical systems.
• Knowledge and experience using basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Building repair as it pertains to assigned buildings.
• Install and repair; door closers and thresholds, door and frames, drywall, carpentry, wall covering, carpet repair, light electrical, ceiling tile, light plumbing, painting, floor tile.
• Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.
• Respond effectively to all emergencies.
• Prepare and submit to management summary reports listing conditions found in the performance of assigned work, and recommend and/or suggest action to be taken.
• Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping, safety of work areas and company vehicle. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
• Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes or Laws.
• Must be willing and able to support any afterhours building related activity as required.
• Attend periodic training seminars, as a group or solo with an on-line computer, on or off site.
• Safe guard all company and clients assets and electronic devices in your possession.
