Job summary

City and County of Denver seeks an Equipment Operator I to perform field operations across the City and County of Denver. The role focuses on operating light to medium industrial equipment, conducting inspections, and assisting with maintenance while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• CDL with B endorsement required at time of application.
• FMCSA Clearinghouse status must be clear.
• Background check and drug test required.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to operate in field across the City and County of Denver.

Responsibilities

• Operates light to medium industrial equipment in construction and maintenance.
• Pre/post trip inspections per federal guidelines.
• Monitor on-board instruments and take corrective action as needed.
• Do manual labor when not operating equipment.
• Assist in preventative maintenance and basic repairs.
• Keep trip records and logs; report vehicle defects or incidents.
• Respond to public inquiries courteously and provide information.
• Participate in snow removal duties.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
