Job summary

City and County of Denver's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is hiring an Equipment Operator I to perform construction, maintenance, and related duties across the city.

Qualified applicants drive CDL-B, have at least a high school diploma, and can operate light to medium equipment while keeping logs, performing inspections, and assisting in snow removal as needed. The role offers full-time hours with competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years general labor experience with at least six months operating light to medium equipment.
• CDL-B with endorsements required at time of application.
• Ability to read and follow route maps; proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Operates light to medium sized equipment for construction and maintenance tasks.
• Performs pre/post trip inspections and maintains vehicle logs per federal guidelines.
• Responds to public inquiries and assists in snow removal and related duties.
• Performs manual labor when not operating equipment.
• Assists with basic vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
• Maintains safety and reporting records; observes on-board instruments.
