Job summary

The position focuses on field verification of contractors’ performance during construction season and shifts to draft design details and calculate quantities during winter months for the next season’s work. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate's degree in civil engineering technology, survey technology or related field and 1+ years of experience, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with design drafting, quantity calculations and bid specifications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction sites for adherence to specifications and standards.
• Prepare preliminary designs and specifications for water, sewer, storm drain and street projects.
• Inspect ongoing projects and maintain inspection records; observe installation and testing.
• Assist with emergency duties and floodplain management.
• Provide training and direction to seasonal staff and act as a team leader as needed.
• Interact with public, contractors and utility representatives to resolve issues and relay information.
