Job summary

Apex Engineering Group is seeking Lead Engineering Technicians to join a flexible team across multiple offices (Fargo, Bismarck, Dickinson, ND and Detroit Lakes, St. Cloud, Minnetonka, MN).

The role supports highway and urban roadway projects from design through construction, utilizing CADD skills and acting as Chief Inspector on site. Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in civil design and inspection, proficiency with OpenRoads/MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D, and a valid driver's

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Engineering Technology or related is highly desirable.
• Minimum 5 years of civil design and inspection experience preferred.
• Proficiency with OpenRoads/MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed drawings and layouts using CADD software.
• Calculate dimensions, quantities, and profiles for roads/utilities.
• Follow company and client CADD standards.
• Assist Project Managers and Senior Technicians on plans.
• Develop skills in construction observation and surveying.
• Act as resident project representative when required.
• Communicate progress and issues with project managers and field staff.
• Document construction progress in field diaries and data systems.
• Attend meetings in person or remotely as required.
