Job summary

The City of Minnetonka, MN is seeking an Engineering Technician III to perform intermediate technical work including construction inspection, design support, CAD drafting, plan preparation and permit review under the Engineering Project Manager.

Responsibilities include verifying conditions before construction, coordinating with property owners, managing on-site inspections for public facilities, and assisting in design and cost estimation for projects.

Qualifications

• Associates/Technical degree with civil engineering, survey-related coursework and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Level 2 MnDOT certification in bituminous street, concrete field and grading/base within one year.
• Valid Minnesota driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Verifies and documents existing conditions prior to commencement of construction.
• Contacts property owners to notify them of imminent construction activities and coordinates access.
• Performs on-site inspections to verify compliance with approved plans and specs.
• Assists in design, plan preparation, and preliminary cost estimates for public improvements.
• Maintains project diaries and records; coordinates with testing consultants and contractors.
