Job summary

Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering or related program is required. The internship involves outdoor field work, data collection, and collaboration with City staff. Anticipated May–August 2027.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering or related college program.
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments accurately and on time.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with City staff.
• Valid driver’s license equivalent to Minnesota Class D.
• Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field surveys and public improvement inspections.
• Perform drafting tasks for City map updates.
• Gather data for pavement management program.
• Assist the public with engineering information requests.
• Collect data such as traffic sign data and boulevard tree inventory.
• Support research projects related to municipal engineering.
