Ecorse is seeking a Deputy Controller to oversee property taxes, accounts payable, payroll, and general accounting functions. The role supports the City Controller and requires basic municipal accounting experience along with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

The position involves preparing tax rolls, managing invoicing and payments, and assisting with annual audits. Office-based role with potential extended hours as needed.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field.
• One year of municipal experience.
• FLSA status: Non-exempt.

Mansioni

• Collect L-4029s and enter millages; prepare summer and winter tax rolls and tax bills; record and journalize receipts in the tax program.
• Process accounts payable: receive invoices, verify against policies, code properly, prepare data for entry, manage check runs and vendor records.
• Handle payroll: process timesheets, enter payroll data, prepare payroll checks, file payroll reports, and issue W-2s.
