Job summary

The Office of the City Attorney for the City of Miami Beach seeks a skilled attorney to handle all aspects of transactional matters, provide legal support across City departments, and draft and review contracts, ordinances, and resolutions.

The successful candidate will advise on municipal and procurement law, maintain high ethical standards, and work with diverse departments including Housing, Parks, Tourism, Economic Development, and IT.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Florida Bar in good standing.
• 4–6 years of experience in transactional and/or procurement law.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review a broad range of transactional documents and instruments.
• Prepare ordinances and resolutions for the Mayor and City Commission.
• Advise City staff on municipal and procurement law and compliance.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on municipal and procurement topics.
• Represent the City in procurement disputes and bid protests.
