Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) seeks an on-site Construction Inspector to supervise and support multiple on-going projects. You will read and interpret construction documents, witness materials tests, and ensure adherence to contract requirements while coordinating with the Inspection Supervisor.

You will generate daily reports, manage documentation, and assist with site observations across NTMWD facilities and rehabilitation projects. A Texas driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Two years of construction inspection or equivalent experience.
• Must be willing to obtain APWA CPII or IBC/ICC certification.
• Requires a valid Texas driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the construction of all new facilities and rehab projects to ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Advise the Inspection Supervisor when work deviates from drawings and specs.
• Witness tests such as concrete slump, compression, and soil density tests as needed.
• Ensure materials and equipment are installed per approved submittals and store them correctly.
• Generate accurate daily reports and document project photos with descriptions.
• Verify quantities of work and stored materials submitted on monthly estimates.
• Be available to the Contractor during working hours to resolve issues.
• May inspect multiple projects at varying stages and visit multiple job sites daily.
• May require weekends or off-hours depending on project needs.
