Qualifications

• Combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in code enforcement or related field; or
• Associate’s degree and 4+ years; or
• High School diploma and 8+ years.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices related to the enforcement of regulatory codes and applicable municipal laws.

Responsibilities

• Monitor complaints and inspect for violations of township codes.
• Investigate reported code violations on properties.
• Maintain warning, notice, inspection and violation records.
• Follow up on violations using advisories, warnings, and notices of violation.
• Prepare documentation and legal requests when needed; serve as hearing/trial witness.
• Process and issue Street Opening Permits; monitor permit compliance.
• Review municipal claims letters for major violations or open permits; coordinate with Tax Office.
• Issue Grading Permits with Public Works and Township Engineer.
• Prepare activity reports as required.
• Assist Director of Planning and Community Development as directed.
