Job summary

The Charter Township of Chesterfield Building & Code Enforcement Department is hiring a Code Enforcement Officer. The role enforces Township and State codes, inspecting buildings and home construction sites, issuing citations, and informing homeowners and developers about regulations to preserve neighborhood quality.

Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, valid Michigan driver's license, and public-sector code enforcement experience or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior law enforcement training or equivalent experience.
• Experience in public sector building/planning or code enforcement.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license and insured vehicle for travel.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor buildings and home construction sites.
• Issue citations and letters to homeowners or developers.
• Provide information on Township regulations to homeowners and developers.
• Preserve the quality of business and neighborhoods.
• Perform other duties as assigned; work weekdays with occasional Saturdays.
