Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prepare for and obtain Building, Electrical, Plumbing, and Mechanical inspections licenses within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Issue building permits and collect fees.
• Review zoning classification for appropriate construction.
• Review plans for building specifications to ensure codes are met.
• Inspect construction to ensure compliance with building regulations and approved plans.
• Maintain records of each construction site and permits/fees.
• Investigate flood plain location relative to sites and ensure compliance.
• Attend City Council and Board meetings as required.
• Create monthly activity reports for City Council and annual reports for agencies.
