Job summary

Qualifications

  • Education equivalent to graduation from a standard four-year high school and extensive experience in the building, plumbing or construction industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and blueprints quickly and accurately.
  • Knowledge of Codes and regulations pertaining to building construction and inspection processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site structural, mechanical, and plumbing inspections of buildings under construction, repair, and alteration.
  • Inspect footings, foundations, framing, and completion for compliance with safety and zoning regulations.
  • Issue building permits in collaboration with offices and investigate zoning violations.
