Job Details

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and counsel to municipal departments on a wide range of issues, including land use, zoning, contracts, public works, and environmental law.
• Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, contracts, deeds, leases, and other legal documents.
• Represent the municipality in civil litigation, administrative hearings, and other legal proceedings.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions on complex issues of municipal law.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Work closely with other members of the legal team to develop legal strategies and solutions.
• Participate in the development and implementation of public policy initiatives.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in municipal law, public policy, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of municipal law, public policy, and government municipalities.
