Job description

Responsible for a variety of duties and reports to the Senior Center Coordinator. The hours of the Senior Center are 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday-Friday. Candidate would typically work a 4 hour shift; however, hours may vary based on the needs of the facility.The list is not intended to be all-inclusive nor exclusive, but is intended to provide examples of typical duties performed.

  • Greet guests as they enter the Senior Center
  • Provide information
  • Answer phone calls and routine questions
  • Provide information to members
  • Assist with activity calendar
  • Assist with room set up for daily classes and programs
  • Provide friendly customer service to city patrons
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Language Ability

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.

Basic computer skills needed.
