Job summary

The City of Raleigh is seeking an Accountant to join the Accounting Division within the Finance Department to manage financial information, maintain ledgers, and prepare intermediate reports and financial statements in accordance with GAAP and City policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field; 1–3 years' experience in accounting or related field
• Knowledge of governmental accounting and financial reporting (GAAP and GASB)
• Grant management, accounting reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivable

Responsibilities

• Prepare, research, and analyze accounting data and prepare intermediate-level reports and financial statements
• Maintain general ledger information and review financial transactions by creating and monitoring electronic files and accounting documents
• Ensure transactions are processed in accordance with City policy, laws, regulations, GAAP, and sound business practices
