Job summary

Canyon de Chelly National Monument in Chinle, AZ seeks a Maintenance Worker to perform recurring building and utility maintenance and operation duties, assisting journeymen and other maintenance staff. Daily work includes carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical repairs, masonry, and equipment operation, with attention to safety and proper use of tools.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform the full range of Maintenance Worker tasks across multiple trades.
• Experience with hand and power tools for carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and related duties.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry repairs and construction using standard tools.
• Paint, stain, and finish interior and exterior surfaces; assist with prep work.
• Carry out basic plumbing and limited electrical repairs.
• Assist with concrete, masonry, and related maintenance tasks.
• Operate wastewater or water system equipment and monitor readings.
