Job summary

University Health Truman Medical Center is seeking a Maintenance Engineer A for the Physical Plant to join our campus facilities team in Kansas City, MO. The role involves hands-on maintenance across building trades and utility systems, with a 40-hour workweek and a 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM schedule.

The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical trades, ability to read sketches, and strong safety awareness to ensure reliable operation of building systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years' experience in multiple mechanical trades.
• Ability to interpret and work from sketches.
• Knowledge of the methods, practices, tools and materials used in general maintenance and repair work.
• Working knowledge of electrical, painting, carpentry, plumbing or masonry

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen equipment and medical gas, water, and waste systems.
• Lubricate equipment, change belts, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on air handling equipment.
• Operate hand tools and power tools; follow daily tasks and priorities.
