Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to perform routing preventive and emergency maintenance in the utilities area. You will handle wall, floor, ceiling, masonry and specialty finishes, ensuring compliance with district policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities include problem solving on-site, interpreting blueprints, planning work, and supervising staff as needed. Valid Texas/NM driver's license and English literacy are required as are adherence to safety

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; 3 years verifiable utilities experience including walls, floors, ceilings and finishes.
Valid TX or NM driver's license and insurability by district.
Ability to read, write, and understand English; follow environmental safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site problem solving, plan and arrange own work, and refer problems to supervisor.
Perform preventive and emergency maintenance of utilities and related systems including drywall, tile, ceilings and flooring.
Read and interpret manufacturers' instructions and blueprints; prepare material lists and perform layouts.
Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment; ensure safe operation and clean work areas.
Supervise staff as assigned and cooperate with coworkers to meet district goals.
Follow safety practices per district policies and participate in professional development.
