Job summary

San Angelo ISD Maintenance in San Angelo, Texas is seeking a Preventative Maintenance technician to perform scheduled maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems across district facilities.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a Texas driver’s license, and at least three years of related experience; the position is full-time, non-exempt, 12 months, reporting to the Preventative Maintenance Crew Foreman.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.
• Knowledge of operating principles of motors.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Three years’ experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience; clear driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair roofs and HVAC systems.
• Inspect and repair plumbing fixtures, hot water heaters and install when needed.
• Install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, power equipment, and components of machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, specifications, schematics, and blueprints.
• Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records on materials used, labor, and production.
• Maintain inventory of district-owned tools, equipment, and materials.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure safe operating condition.
• Operate tools and equipment according to safety procedures.
• Work with building principals and supervisors to complete projects.
• Communicate the district’s mission and goals to the community and solicit support.
