Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District is seeking a custodial maintenance worker to perform routine cleaning, minor repairs and facility setup. The role requires following established schedules, operating cleaning equipment, and ensuring safety and compliance with district policies.

A valid driver’s license is required, and lifting heavy objects is part of the job. The position involves working on-site at district facilities, supporting events and maintaining a safe, clean environment for students

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance and safety procedures.
• Valid Texas or New Mexico driver's license; insurable per district policy.
• Ability to operate cleaning/maintenance equipment and lift heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Follow a cleaning schedule to clean and sanitize floors, boards, wastebaskets, windows and restrooms.
• Move furniture, assist with lunchroom setup and events as directed.
• Perform minor maintenance such as painting and equipment checks; report malfunctions.
• Regulate HVAC to maintain safe, economical temperatures per district guidelines.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
• Open, secure, monitor and safeguard facilities; follow safety procedures.
