Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of state income tax (public accounting, law firm, or corporate tax experience preferred).
• Ability to analyze statutes, regulations, and case law.
• Experience communicating complex tax concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Eager to learn with strong analytical, research, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage state income tax notice responses and audit responses.
• Lead state income tax appeals including drafting protests and meeting with tax authorities.
• Collaborate with business units, tax directors, and external advisors to resolve tax controversies.
• Analyze state tax authority data and transactions to identify optimization opportunities.
• Research state law, proposed legislative changes, and caselaw developments to stay current.
