Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program.
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Phlebotomy training; Phlebotomist license and work experience, if required by practice.
• Minimum of one year of recent experience working in a medical office/facility.
• Certified Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned, including assisting with exams, collecting history, and patient flow management.
• Fulfills clerical responsibilities such as scheduling, records, billing and insurance verification.
• Maintains infection control and cleans/sets up exam rooms and equipment between patients.
• Supports patient rights and communicates with supervisors as needed.
• Fulfills clinical medical assisting duties as allowed by state law, including specimen handling and basic procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program

Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Phlebotomy training or Phlebotomist license (if required by practice)

Minimum of one year of experience in a medical office/facility
