Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant for our South Holland clinic to support an Internal Medicine team. The role is 100% on-site, reporting to supervising physicians and licensed professionals within a busy office setting.

Responsibilities include patient flow, clerical support, room preparation, vital signs, specimen handling, and assisting with procedures. Candidates should have MA credential, BLS, and prior clinic experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of recent experience in a medical office/facility.
• Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program.
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Phlebotomy training and license may be required by practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with examinations and procedures; collect patient histories and vital signs.
• Perform clerical tasks: scheduling, patient records, insurance verification, and referrals.
• Prepare exam/procedure rooms and ensure infection control; restock supplies.
• Administer injections and prepare specimens per protocol; handle lab tasks.
• Assist with charting, patient education, and emergency response as required.
