Job summary

UChicago Medicine Flossmoor clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant for a 100% onsite role in the greater Chicagoland area. The position involves direct patient care, clerical tasks, and support for GI services.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, CMA certification, Active BLS, and at least 1 year in a medical office; phlebotomy skills are a plus. Strong teamwork, computer skills, and ability to handle a fast-paced environment are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a certified program for Medical Assistants.
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Phlebotomy training; Phlebotomist license and work experience, if required by practice.
• Minimum of one year of recent experience working in a medical office/facility.
• Experience with practice specialty.
• Certified Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned, including patient flow and assisting providers.
• Fulfills clerical responsibilities such as scheduling and verifying insurance.
• Fulfills environmental responsibilities: cleaning rooms and maintaining infection control.
• Fulfills organizational responsibilities: respecting patient rights and responding to emergencies.
• Fulfills clinical medical assisting responsibilities per state law, including phlebotomy, vital signs, and minor procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
