Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers in patient care, examinations and procedures. The role requires a high school diploma with MA program background and certification eligibility within 12 months, plus strong communication and coding knowledge.

You will work under physician supervision, manage patient flow, collect vitals, prepare rooms and assist in essential clinical tasks across assigned areas.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of medical assistant experience required; or completion of a medical assistant externship.
• Demonstrates ability to maintain good communications; ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, physicians, patients, families, and the public.
• Working knowledge of ICD9/10 and CPT coding and insurance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Delivers appropriate care to patients, at a proficient level under physician supervision.
• Assists providers with patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies and treatments.
• Takes vitals, prepares examination rooms and supports smooth patient flow and documentation.
