Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Multispecialty Sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound across abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, breast and MSK, adhering to established standards. The role requires ARDMS certifications in two areas and one additional ARDMS certification within one year of hire, plus Basic Life Support (BLS).

You will review requests, optimize protocols, educate patients, document procedures, and collaborate with radiologists.

Competenze

• Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Sonography Program.
• Certified in two ARDMS areas and one additional ARDMS certification obtained within one year of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).

Mansioni

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations across multiple specialties.
• Review imaging requests and patient history to determine protocols.
• Operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures.
• Assess and care for patients throughout the procedure.
• Observe and communicate pertinent clinical findings to radiologists.
• Prepare examination rooms and sterile supplies.
• Assist with patient positioning, lifting, and transport.
• Document imaging procedures and ensure accurate records and billing.
• Transmit completed studies to PACS and other systems.
• Prepare preliminary findings or reports for interpretation.
• Perform vascular ultrasound studies per protocol.
• Maintain productivity and equipment inventory.
• Report malfunctions and support quality improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate continuity of care with internal/external departments.
• Participate in continuing education and supervise students.
