Job summary

Duke Energy's Marshall Steam Station in Terrell, NC, is seeking a multiskilled O&M Maintenance Mechanic for Tech I, II, III levels. The role involves startup/shutdown, monitoring, servicing, and maintaining coal-generation equipment on site.

It requires mechanical, electrical or I&C experience and safety training compliance. Candidates should have a HS diploma, a valid driver’s license, basic computer skills, and the ability to work shifts, including occasional overtime and emergency response,

Qualifications

• HS Diploma / GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Demonstrated mechanical, electrical or I&C experience.
• Able to pass respiratory and PPE requirements.
• Willing to attend specialized safety trainings (Fire Brigade, Confined Space, Hazmat & First Responder).
• Plant operator selection system (POSS/MASS) tested.

Responsibilities

• Perform startup, shutdown, and routine maintenance of plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate equipment as needed.
• Monitor equipment performance and report variances.
• Work in compliance with safety procedures and red-tag requirements.
